Research conducted by the Integrated Fisheries Lab relates to quantifying the relationships between fish, people, and the environment. Our work generally falls into four research themes:

Social-ecology of fisheries: What value do people derive from fishing activities and how can we leverage tradeoffs for sustainability?

Improving fisheries models: How can we integrate new data streams to improve population estimates and predictive models?

Global shark conservation: What is the state of shark populations and how many sharks should there be?

Energy flows in aquatic ecosystems: How do nutrients and feeding pathways affect fish interactions in a given environment?
